As a Wanaka regional reporter and photographer for the Otago Daily Times and Wanaka Sun I had the privilege of engaging with and telling the stories of a close knit community. The experience allowed me to stretch myself across different topics and issues. I was able to cover big events like the Wanaka A&P show, start a regular column on the growing migrant community and cover breaking news like a homicide investigation in Lake Hawea. More importantly I learnt how to connect with a group of people and form networks that enriched both my reporting and photography.
