Rawan Saadi

I've always been driven by my love of storytelling. Not just the headlines but a deep dive into issues and communities that are making a difference. This passion has taken to different cities and causes. I have helped deliver photography and social media posts for Refugees as Survivors. I have reported on an election for student radio 95bFM. I have helped build visuals for an architecture feature at Verve magazine. I have been a regional  photographer and reporter in Wanaka. And now I am a digital producer for RNZ while also getting to be part of people's special moments through my freelance photography. My reporting style has always been more analytical and community focused including youth related stories, migrant communties, mental health and arts and culture. My photography style is somewhat similar, I like to capture movement and images that follow a sequence and tell a vivid and colourful story. Let's just say there is nothing plain or surface level about my work! But through out all my experiences I have consistently brought that same love and care I have always felt for what I do, no matter how different or new it was.
